FAQ’s
What types of grills can I use FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows in?
The size of FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows allows it to fit well in most table top grills such as Japanese grills (hibachi and konro grills), and the uniform size is great for kettle grills and larger grills too. It is also great for smokers and dutch ovens.
What is the difference between FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows and the Binchotan-style Logs?
Due to the larger exposed surface area when burning, FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows draw in more oxygen during burning and therefore burn hotter, but slightly shorter than our Binchotan-style Logs.
Also, although both are made from sustainable high-quality raw materials, the Binchotan-style Logs are made from fruit wood instead of coconut shells.
What can I cook over FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows?
Pretty much anything really from meat to seafood to vegetables.
FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows produces excellent heat, so it is also great for searing or hot and fast cooks as well as low and slow.
Why Fyro?
Smart Heat Control
Our Coconut Charcoal Pillows burn with a steady glow, giving you superb control over the temperature, with minimal flare up of wild-flames that burn your food before it is cooked inside.
Award-winning Flavour
The consistent heat of FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows takes your BBQ to the next level and helps your food develop the best flavour that any charcoal can bring to your grill.
Low Ash, Easy Clean Up
After Coconut Charcoal Pillows have completely finished burning, the residual ash content is only 5-7%.
This is much lesser than with regular charcoal briquettes that contain mineral fillers, and makes cleaning your grill easier.
100% Natural & Sustainably-Sourced
Our Coconut Charcoal Pillows are made with high quality 100% Natural Coconut Shells, giving you a clean and pure heat source.
Unlike many other briquette products out there, FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows contain no nasty minerals or chemicals, and uses a vegetable starch binder.
Reusing after a cook
FYRO Coconut Charcoal Pillows burn steadily for 3-8 hours depending on the style of grilling, and if still glowing at the end of your cook – can be extinguished and re-ignited for use during your next BBQ!
To extinguish, cut off the air supply to your grill, or smother burning charcoal with ash or sand. Ensure charcoal has cooled and fully extinguished before moving it.
Enjoy re-using FYRO charcoal!
“Even, high heat for a long time. Laid a minion ring overnight for pulled pork with this Coconut charcoal in my Weber kettle grill and results were impressive.”

“These took a little longer to start than the regular briquettes from the supermarket, but there’s a marked difference in their heat and longevity compared to other briquettes I’ve used. Hard to see myself going back to those other briquettes now.”
